Blueprint Interpretation

Reading and adhering to construction plans and Australian Standards

Material selection

Working with various types of glass, such as toughened and laminated

Cutting and shaping

Precisely cutting and shaping glass for specific purposes like tabletops, mirrors, and traditional lead lighting

Glass installation

Installing glass in windows, doors, and structures for various applications, both domestic and commercial, including shower screens, splash backs, robe doors, balustrades and overhead glazing

Frame installation

Fitting frames and hardware for glass installations

Sealing and caulking

Applying sealants and caulking to ensure airtight and waterproof seals

Glass repair

Repairing or replacing broken or damaged glass

Safety measures

Following safety protocols while handling different types of glass

How do I get into this career?
