There are two pre-trade programs available, each designed to help you build core trade skills, boost your confidence, and connect with real career opportunities in construction.

Infrastructure Ready
Infrastructure Ready equips you with the practical skills and safety training needed to kickstart a career in Civil Construction. Get job-ready and step into entry-level roles on major infrastructure projects.

Trade Ready
Trade Ready prepares you for a career in the building and construction trades. You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn essential entry-level skills, and build the confidence to step straight into an apprenticeship or traineeship.

Infrastructure Ready equips you with practical skills, safety training, and hands-on experience in a controlled, supportive environment.

Whether you’re a school student exploring your options, a jobseeker ready to gain real workplace skills, or a career changer looking to transition into construction, our program is designed to help you build confidence, learn essential skills, and get job-ready in just 3 weeks.

Through a mix of life skills training, nationally recognised units, and simulated workplace experience, you’ll gain the knowledge and experience to step straight into a career in civil construction.

The Trade Ready Program is built for people who are ready to take the next step into the building and construction industry equipping you with practical skills, safety training, and hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

Whether you’re in school, entering the workforce for the first time or changing careers It provides the right mix of accredited training, life skills, hands-on experience and Structured Work Learning on site to help you succeed from day.

Program structure

  • 21 hours of Life Skills Training
  • Training in 5 nationally recognised units of competency
  • 38 hours of Simulated Workplace Training in a controlled environment

Program structure

  • Training in 7 nationally accredited units of competency
  • 21 hours of life skills training including financial knowledge workplace fitness, nutrition, employability skills and personal development.
  • 114 hours of on-site Structured Workplace Learning (SWL)

Up to 3 weeks

Duration

5-6 weeks, depending on delivery and placement opportunities.

If you’re a school student, your school will have its own delivery schedule depending on the region you live in (equivalent to 5 weeks full time). Most school programs commence Term 3, Year 12.
