After finishing school at 17 years old, Hamid wanted to go straight into an apprenticeship. During his 4-year apprenticeship, he was stoked to be making good money while learning a trade and not having to worry about university debt.
Hamid says“What makes a good apprentice is being open-minded, keen to learn and just having a go!”
The bright future
of a Brickie
At only 22 years old, the future is looking bright for Hamid. Already earning a six-figure salary, Hamid has already progressed into a foreman position at work and potentially down the track plans to start his own business.
Hamid says“To be honest, I want to be financially secure by the age of 35 and not have to work to hard after that!”

With the early knock offs tradie life brings, Hamid has plenty of time enjoy his hobbies. Whether it’s going dirt biking after work, playing a game of pool or catching some with mates, he appreciates the work-life balance that construction brings.
